How much the composition of the citizens hadchanged since the early days when they were almost all of THE SPANISH WAR 163 English or Scotch stock is shown by the fact that among thelist of officers and privates occur names that are Irish, Ger-man, Scandinavian, French, Italian and Hebrew.
