Electric Switches in UndergroundConduit Operation The application of electric switching devices to under-ground conduit systems on surface lines presents somedifficulties not found in ordinary surface operation, sinceit is necessary to operate the leaves of the conduit slotin conjunction with the switch tongue, thus requiringthe movement of the additional weight of the consequence a very powerful and rugged apparatusis needed.
