Saturday 17th. June 2017: Sefton Park, Liverpool UK: Africa Oye celebrates 25 years of African music & dance with its annual free 2 day festival in Sefton Park. A popular free festival of African music and culture celebrates its 25th. year. The free annual event covering two days started shortly after midday when 'Staged Kaos', a group of young children sang and danced. This was followed by local Samba Reggae drum band Katumba. whose co-director Juliana started with a short speech asking the assembled crowd to remember the victims of the recent fire at Grenfell high rise. After a short silence, they kicked off with anergetic and thunderous drumming set.
