Tenzing rock is one of the many training spots of the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute in Darjeeling, West Bengal, India. It is named after the great sherpa Tenzing Norgay (born as Namgyal Wangdi), who along with Sir Edmund Hillary was the first two-man team to have first conquered Mount Everest on 29 May 1953.
