The picture shows the ferry that was replaced by the building of the Talycafn Bridge, over the Conway River, Wales - in 1897 . It was replaced by a bridge of steel resting on piers and abutments made of stone and the background is the Ferry Hotel. A nearby mound is the only remains of a 5th or 6th century earth and timber castle owned by Maelgwn Gwynedd
