Lieutenant P. Cloud captured photograph number 25,250, documenting a significant piece of artillery received from the French during World War One. The gun, numbered "" (French number 171), was purchased by the in December 1917. It played a vital role in the Battle of Seicheprey on May 26, 1918, being the first of its kind fired at the Germans by the Americans. The photograph was taken near Flirey, Meurthe et Moselle, France, in the 57th military area, southeast of Nonsard IV Coffes. Notations were made on the image, referencing the details of photograph 25,250.
