The 17th century harbour, Portsoy, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, UK
The village of Portsoy on the Moray Firth coastline of Aberdeenshire, Scotland has two harbours. This old harbour was built in the 17th century nad the "new" harbour was built in the 19th century to accomodate the growing fishing fleet of the day. The boats in the harbors these days are mostle pleasure craft with a few shell fishing boats. The 17th century harbour is the setting for Portsoy's annual Scottish Traditional Boat Festival which draws thousands of visitors each year to the village.
