Monument to the world's first human in space cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin (1934-1968) in Moscow, Russia


Yuri Alexeyevich Gagarin (9 March 1934 - 27 March 1968), Hero of the Soviet Union, was a Soviet cosmonaut. On 12 April 1961, he became the first human in space and the first to orbit the Earth. This monument to Yuri Gagarin by sculptor J. L. Chernov and architect G. G. Isakovich was erected in 1986 at 14, Vernadsky Avenue opposite cinema "Star." It is made of bronze and granite.
