Egg Plant seed should be sown very early in hotbed; plants being very tender, must be protected from frost but exposed as far as practicable to light and air to harden them. Egg Plant seed will not germinate freely with- out a strong uniform heat; if they get the least chilled they seldom recover; therefore, repeated sowing is sometimes necessary.
