A Caucasian silver-mounted nielloed shashqa,late 19th century. Single-edged blade(somewhat stained)with triple fullers on both sides and with Arabic inscriptions etched on the obverse side at the forte. Silver grip decorated with engraving and niello and set with four decorative rivets(one of them a replacement). Leather-covered wooden scabbard stitched with silver wire and with silver mountings on both sides bearing engraved and niello decoration(small crack at the end of the chape).
