Thus the day passed without further event to record, savethat night quickly came on with its only half moon-light andfleeting snow-clouds whilst naught was heard but the sigh-ing of the whining, wintry winds, as they raged through theforest trees and their branches, thus driving out the eventfuland ever-memorable old year of 1862, and ushering in thatof the new, 1S63.
