1895. PANHARD ET LEVASSOR 4 H P., LITRIS. In 1887 the wood-working machinery firm of Panhard et Levassor started making Gottlieb Daimler’s engines under licence in France. In 1895 Emile Levassor drove a car single-handed for 48 hours to win the 732 mile Paris-Bordeaux-Paris race at an average of 15 The car had solid rubber tyres and tiller Brooke Bond Tea collector card.
