Foz do Douro, Porto, Portugal. On the other side the margin is visualized St. Pedro da Afurada in V. N. Gaia.

Dividing these two cities there is a river, called “Rio Douro”, which is born in Spain and flows into the Atlantic Sea, more precisely in the place of Foz do Douro. This place is a historic place because about 600 years ago a shipyard was created for the construction of ships and boats that would lead the portuguese to the conquest of Ceuta and, later, to the epic of the Discoveries. The city of Porto provided all the meat for the crew of the vessels and they only had the entrails (guts) to eat, for this reason the inhabitants of Porto were historically called “Tripeiros”. The central, low and coastal part of Porto as well as the coast of Gaia is very frequented by tourists who come here due to the famous “Port Wine”.
