Hydrogen fuel system component testing

Sandia's Daniel Dedrick handles a complex metal hydride within an inert production and storage environment. Complex metal hydrides, along with many hydrogen storage materials, react readily when exposed to air and moisture. A Sandia-led project was initiated to quantify the reactivity of these materials to enable safe production, handling, storage, and utilization within the context of full-scale automotive applications.
