Feature 3 yielded but few artifacts and, except for the objects found in the fireplace, most of them came from the outer edge of the floor. A small granite boulder about a foot in diameter was present in the fill some 6 feet north of the fireplace and at least 5 inches above the floor. This was somewhat battered as if from use as an anvil. Feature 5 {fig. 8).—The ring-mound marking this house site was located about the middle of the outer line of rings on the east side of the site. It is No. 9 on Stout's map and of it he says: "This was White.
