The general outline is not very satis-factory, nor are the stages very well proportioned toone another. There are three steeples in Limoges with the octagonset obliquely in the same way, obviously a local fashion. Limoges. They have however the addition of an octagonal orround pier over each angle of the square. Two of them,that of S. Michel aux Lions (Plate XLIX) and that ofS.
