Louis Bernard Guyton de Morveau (1737-1816), French chemist. Guyton de Morveau worked one of the first systematic methods of naming chemicals, and worked on the Encyclopedie Methodique (which was published between 1782 and 1832). Outside of science, he was involved with the French governments before, during and after the French Revolutions. In 1794, he was involved with the newly formed balloon corps, and he himself flew a balloon during a battle.
