SEA (April 19, 2017) Damage Controlman 3rd Class Jevon Smith pushes a button to turn off an aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) pump during scheduled maintenance aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) April 19, 2017. AFFF is one method used to fight fires. The ship is deployed with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the 6th Fleet area of operations.
