As we push our wayinto it we discover that it is so clear as to make littlemore obstruction to the view of rocks and fish belowthan does the air itself. This transparent torrent isthe outlet of the lake. It is only four miles longand descends three hundred and eighty feet in thatdistance. It furnishes one hundred and twenty-fivethousand horse-power at low water. The canon, rivenand tortured, through which it descends, is a fittingapproach to the lake, unique Chelan. For havingtraversed the four miles, we find the lake out-stretched before us.
