Brighton, September 22nd 2020: A recently-hatched long-tailed blue (Lampides boeticus) butterfly on the hills overlooking Brighton. The species, a native of the Mediterranean, has been arriving in the UK in increasing numbers over the last few years. Dr Dan Hoare from Butterfly Conservation has suggested "the butterfly is extending its geographical range northwards in response to climate change" ()
