Denial-of-service attack, conceptual artwork. A denial-of-service attack (DoS attack) is an attempt to make a computer resource unavailable to its intended users (blue spheres). This is often done by flooding the target machine (cube, centre) with too many 'hits' (arrows) for it to cope, meaning that it is unable to respond to legitimate traffic.
