Dr. Amaldo Bordoni (Museum "La Specola" in Flor- ence, Italy) sent to me 583 anthicides beetles for deter- mination. This sample contains mainly specimens from Asia (China, Laos, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand, Turk- menistan) Italy and Kazakhstan. A single specimen is present of an undescribed species. Neither the classical work of La FertÉ-SénectÉre (1849) nor the mono- graph of the genus Mecynotarsits LaFerté by Heberdey (1942) contain a comparable species.'. Fig. 1: Mecynotarsus bordonii sp. n., holotype, female, habitus. Mecynotarsus bordonii sp. n. (Fig. 1) Holotype (female): Pakistan, , SW Balo- chistan, Gwadar, leg. S. Becvar, in coll. Bordoni, Flor- ence. Measurements (in mm): Total length , max. width Head length , width (across the eyes) Prono- tum length , width Horn length , width Elytra length , combined width Coloration: Yellowish-brown with dark brown spots on elytra. Head: Little shiny, wrinkled. Pubescence silvery, rather stout, but very short. Antennae conspicuous thin, pubes- cence fine. Pronotum: Little shiny. Punctuation nearly covered by silvery, stout, dense, recumbent pubescence. Horn on each side with seven teeth, becoming smaller posteri- orly. Crest consists of seven lengthy bumps, forming a nearly closed line. Row of stout, rounded bumps in middle of horn. Elytra: Rather shiny. Punctuation strong. Spaces be- tween punctures inuch smaller than punctures. These become smaller posteriorly, s
