O. caespitosiiin Kot- schy, Cypei-n, 282 (1865); Boiss. Fl. orient. IV, 190 et Suppl. 351.— Probabiliter: O. /'rutescens Thomps. Fl. Cypr. 335 (1906); non Lam. Nuculis mm. lon- gis. mm. latis, late ovatis, suaviter carinatis, apice in rostrum 1 mm. longum pro- tractis, laevissimis, nitidis, marmoratis. As the nutlets are not described by the authors quoted above, I have given here a description of them. The fruits show affinities to 0. nanmn DC. and 0. velutinum Boiss., in the vicinity of which Bois- siER has also placed our spe- cies. 0. mite Boiss., with which Kotschy compares it, belongs to quite another section of the genus. 0. frutescens Lam. has much larger nutlets with less distinguished rostrum. To this species must probably be referred Thomp- son's 0. frutescens from Hag. Hilarion, a place where I have found 0. caespitosinn growing abundantly. Besides by its larger nutlets 0. frutescens Lam. is different from our plant by several other characters mentioned by Boissiee ; the veritable has not been indicated for Cyprus by other '\. V'.
