It is also recommended that to mark this Jubilee occasion we heed the ap-peal so urgently made for work in the Philippines, and in order to meet the initialexpense we ask that a special gift of Five Thousand Dollars be raised this eveningor at this meeting. By the hearty adoption of these recommendations, the Board entersupon its second half century with brave determination to keep aplace in the vanguard of the great movements of 580 Life and Light [December A Jubilee Attendance The throng of guests was so great that many were turned awayfrom lack even of standing-room, and on Wednesday afternoon, andboth Thursday morning and afternoon, parallel meetings, over whichMrs. Frank Gaylord Cook presided, were held in a near-by auditoriumto provide for the overflow. The record-breaking figures for totalregistration of accredited ofi&cers, delegates and specially invitedguests of the Board were 1,052. All Branches were represented, including oiu: youngest, the South-eastern Branch, not yet a year old; and twenty-three out of thetwenty-five Branches sent their full quota of delegates. Particularlywelcome were the missionaries, nimibering forty-three; and eighteenguests from other Congregational Womans Boards—twelve of thesefrom our sister Board in Canada. Most honored of guests, and the speaker at five sessions of the meet-ing was Dr. Gurubai Karmarkar, from Bombay, who brought greetingso
