Stained Glass window depicting apostles fishing Canterbury Cathedral. Miraculous Draught of Fishes, Poor Man's Bible Window

The image depicts Simon/Peter's boat on the Sea of Galilee catching many fish after Jesus had preached to the fishermen. The story is first related in St Luke's Gospel (5:1-11). After catching no fish all night Jesus told the fishermen to cast their nets again whereupon they caught many fish. A second story related by St John (21:1-8) tells of the time after Christ's crucifixion when Simon Peter returned to their previous trade and he and his companions again caught nothing all night. In the morning they saw a man who ordered them to cast their nets again and again caught many fish. It was John, who was in the boat, who recognised Jesus and said "It is The Lord". This window is dated circa 1180.
