At normal pressure, water freezes into ice at 0 degrees Celsius and boils into steam at 100 degrees Celsius. Between these temperatures it is a colourless liquid. It is the most abundant molecule on Earth, covering almost 75 per cent of its surface and also present as vapour in the atmosphere.
