Berwick upon Tweed, Northumberland, England, UK, 14 September 2021. The last tide of the 2021 salmon netting season on the River Tweed for the fishermen at Gardo fishery at Berwick upon Tweed, fishers have worked this fishery from before medieval times using the same method of fishing. Gardo pronounced Gardi, the name only survives in its orginal form because of its use by the fishermen the name was wrongly transcribed from medieval writing. Gardo is also the last commercial salmon netting station on the Tweed.
