Col. Jeffery Smiley became the new commander of the 79th Infantry Brigade Combat Team during a ceremony held July 26th, 2013 at Camp Roberts, Calif. The California Army National Guard commander, Maj. Gen. Lawrence Haskins, was in attendance to usher in the new colonel and congratulate the outgoing commander, Col.
