Bone tumour. Coloured X-ray of a hand showing a tumour growing in a bone of the palm (metacarpal). This is an osteoclastoma, or giant cell tumour. It causes pain and swelling in the affected area. This tumour mainly affects young adults. It is generally excised as it can cause severe pain and there is a small chance that it may turn malignant (cancerous).
