A clockwork and musical memorial to Charles Dibdin, poet, dramatist and composer. Author of Tom Bowling, Poor Jack and other sea songs. He died 1814 and this clockwork bell ringing device was erected on the tower of Holyrood Church in his home town of Southampton, Hampshire soon after.
