Theyoung tyro in his business succeeded in satisfying Tillotsonthat he was equipped for a place, and he was employed. Hewas sent to take charge of the office at Addison, N. confidence in himself was not misplaced. Hemanipulated the instrument well from the start, and soonbecame expert.
