Transcription: Little York Pa June 26th 1864 Dear and affectionate Father and Mother it is With much plesure that I seat my self to address you to let you know that I am Well and do hope those few lines ma find you all enjoying the same blessings Dear Father have changed my home agane but let me assure you that it is to my satisfaction though it was very unexpected to me We received the orders day before yestraday in the afternoon and left Camp Reynolds last evening at 9 Oclock and arrived at little york this morning at 8 which was a very quick trip beside we was detained about one hour at Harisburgh[Harrisburg] Pa We Crossed the Aleganey[Allegany] Mountains last night about 1 oclock I would have given 10 dollars if we could have Crossed the mountains in daylight I tried to keep awake to see what I could see but I had been up the night before tolerable late with a friend of mine in Pittsburgh by the name of Robert Save a brother to my old boss in Mo he worked with me about 4 months in Mo I went to see him when I got to Pittsb[Pittsburgh] and promised him to come down in a short time after I got up to camp but never went untell night before last he was glad to see me and we had much to talk about and set up untell after 11 oclock we come 300 miles 10 hours and crossed the mountains We are about 13 hundred miles from each other though that is but a short journey When a man gets on the post line Express Father I thought that Camp Reynolds was a pretty place but it is nuthing to compare with York as far as I have seen this is one of the prettyest places I have ever saw in my life it is almost a paridise everything looks as bright as an new pin Joseph Stollar the young man that was going home on furlough the time that you was at St louis and I went out in the City this evening prammonadeing and I never saw as many pretty Gir
