'East Meets West in Pacific Victory Conclave', 1943-44. The Cairo Conference or Sextant of November 22nd to 26th, 1943, was held in Cairo, Egypt. It outlined the Allied position regarding Japan during World War II and made decisions about postwar Asia. The meeting was attended by President of the United States Franklin Roosevelt (1882-1945), Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Winston Churchill (1874-1965) and Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek (1887-1975) of the Republic of China.
