Daniel Boone (1734-1820), American pioneer and frontiersman. Boone is best known for his exploration and settlement of what is now the US state of Kentucky. Boone lead hunting and trailblazing expeditions through Cumberland Gap, a mountain pass where Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee meet. Artwork created in 1820 by Chester Harding (1792-1866).
