Roman bronze sword. Ancient Roman engraved bronze gladius hispaniensis sword. This artefact was found in the Rhone at Arles, France, and is one of the most beautiful examples of its genre ever found. It was used by the Roman Army during the reigns of Augustus (27 BC- 14AD) and Claudius (41-54 AD). Photographed at the Departmental Museum of Ancient Arles, France.
