He has recently completed a new brickbuilding which is a handsome structure, and inwhich he carries a large line of hardware, stoves,furnaces, paints, oils, pumps, cutlery and generalsiqiplies. He has taken all of the degrees inthe last mentioned, and has been representativeto the grand lodge. His religious faith is that ofthe Zion Lutheran church. His political viewsaccord with democratic principles, and he hasbeen elected and served as alderman of the sec-ond ward. As a member of the city council hehas exercised his official prerogatives in introduc-ing and supporting measures which have theirroot in the needs and possibilities of the city andthat are intended to promote its welfare and sub-stantial improvement.
