Fore wing with scarlet streak below costa ; a large black discocellular patch ; the terminal band expanding widely towards apex. Hind wing with slight red streak on inner margin; the terminal band expanding towards apex. Hah. Amazons {Bates), 1 5 typet in Mus. Oxon. Exp. 30 millim. Genus MYSTROCNEME. ^ Type. Mystrocneme, Aussereur. Scbmett. f. 419 (1856), non descr varipcs. Proboscis well developed ; palpi upturned, the 2nd joint reaching vertex of bead, the 3rd obtuse ; antennre bipectinate, vritb moderate branches dilated at extremity; bind tibite with the spurs very short. Fore wing with vein 3 from near angle of cell ; 4, 5 from angle ; 6 from just below upper angle; 7, 8, 9, 10 stalked ; 11 from cell. Hind wing with veins 2 and 4 on a moderate stalk; 3 and 5 absent; 6, 7 from upper angle. Sect. I. Abdomen of male with rather narrow ventral valve, with tufts of hair on each side of it; hind tibire of male very long and dilated, and with broad shallow groove from middle to extremity ; fore wing with the area below end of cell and terminal area from apex to median fold roughly scaled on underside; hind wing with the terminal half roughly scaled and folded on underside. 559.
