An affectionate musher rests together with his lead husky in a dogsled after training for the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race near Anchorage, Alaska, USA. Long-distance sled dog racing was revived in the 1970s to save the Alaskan sled dog culture and huskies that were being phased out of existence due to the introduction of snowmobiles. The annual 1,150-mile (1,851 kilometers) Iditarod race from Anchorage to Nome has become world renowned and draws mushers and their dogs from more than a dozen countries. Model released.
