Sapporo, Japan. 7th Feb, 2017. The Sapporo Snow Festival (Sapporo Yuki Matsuri) in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. The annual festival attracts more than 2 million visitors. The first festival took place in 1950 when local high school students bulit snow statues in Odori Koen. Huge snow sculptures are the main attraction along with an international snow sculpture competition and a snow park with activities such as snow slides.
