This statue celebrates - three of the greatest rugby league players – Billy Boston, Gus Risman and Clive Sullivan (though the name tag reads Jim Sullivan - he also played rugby league and was born in Splott) . All three were born in the Cardiff Bay area. These players broke with the more traditional (in Wales) rugby union and joined rugby league clubs.
