The mortuary has suffered vandalism at Denbigh Asylum, Denbigh, Denbighshire, Wales, UK

The North Wales Hospital, also known as Denbigh Mental/Asylum is now in a very sorry state of repair. Since its final closure in 1995 (closed in sections from 1991 - 1995) the site has suffered from vandalism, theft and arson in 2008 when the main hall was destroyed. The local council stepped in to try and save the remains of the building by spending just under £1 million adding a temporary roof. Other parts of the building have collapsed with the floors giving way within. Originally designed by architect Thomas Fulljames, work started in 1844 and was completed in 1848. The hospital was for 200 patients but by the turn of the century it housed 1,500 including staff.
