The Baron Hotel's Oriental Room. When the fighting in Aleppo was bad an opposition-fired mortar came through the window and landed on the floor, but didn't explode. At least five mortars hit the hotel between 2013 and 2015. Aleppo's historic Baron Hotel was founded in 1911 by two Armenian brothers. Guests included David Rockefeller, Theodore Roosevelt, Agatha Christie and Charles Lindbergh.
