Postbridge. An ancient "clapper" bridge, probably13th Century, spanning the East Dart River on Dartmoor, Devon, UK. A popular tourist spot, it has another bridge, dating from the 1780's next to it. The bridge is situated on the road between Moretonhampstead and Pricetown within Dartmoor National Park. A clapper bridge has one or more flat stones that lie on stone piers. This was probably built to enable pack horses to cross the river at this point.
