Aston University is a "plate glass" campus university situated on a 40-acre (²) campus at Gosta Green, in the city centre of Birmingham, England. A more recent addition to the Aston University student dwelling stock is the Lakeside complex which was constructed 1998-9 to a design by Feilden Clegg. Completed in August 1999, it cost £14,240,000 and has flats for approximately 650 students. The building won the Best Public Building award at the 2001 Brick Development Association Awards.
