Boran Shah^ the youngest son of Ibiahim, lies interred by theside of this lamented princess; and beyond, at the farthest extremity, Shah Jaslah, themonarchs eldest son. The canopies over these tombs, on which Mosfems usually expendlavish sums, are of tattered silk, scarcely retaining a vestige of their original magnificence—a circumstance accounted for by the small number and the distressed condition of thefollowers of the prophet in the neighbourhood. The gallery on the verandah which surrounds this hall, is remarkable on account ofits stone roof, which is most tastefully sculptured. It is divided into compartments, oblong and square, 144 in number, very few of which have the same ornaments. Eachdivision is formed of a single stone, and exhibits an elegant combination of arabesques inflowers and wreaths, in those fanciful and spirited designs in which Indian artists excel, and which are of so truly oriental a character.
