This image may not be used to state or imply ESA endorsement of any company or product Nili Fossae, Mars Express colour-coded elevation model. Nili Fossae is a graben system on Mars, located on the north-western edge of the giant Isidis impact basin. The area shown here covers some 10,300 square kilometres. Some of the central graben depressions are up to 500 metres deep. The Digital Terrain Model (DTM) colour codes elevations: purple (lowest) through blue, green, yellow and red to white (highest). Data obtained by the High-Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on Mars Express, on 8 February 2008 during orbit 5270. The European Space Agency's Mars Express has been orbiting Mars since December 2003. For this area without the colour-coding, see image C023/2971.
