Saint Andrew
A painted portrait by Paul Helm of Saint Andrew, patron saint of Scotland. The figure of Andrew is against a background of the Saltire, the flag of Scotland. He is holding a shepherd's crook from which hangs a fish symbolic of both his early occupation as a fisherman and then his calling to be a "fisher of men". The four corners have four symbols: the saltire, a thistle, red lion, a fish.
