JERRARD This Beautiful Specimen was Engraved from an average size Ear fkom our 18o9 *.KuP. yThe Early Bryant Corn. This Alpha of all early corns sailed up the Aroostook River in a canoe with the vanguard of Aroostook's early settlers, the year following the close of the "Aroostook War," and has been raised on the same farm continuously for a period of more than fifty years. It is a handsome yellow variety that will mature farther north than any other corn. It grows quite tall, and bears one or two ears to the stalk. For early boiling it is tender, rich and delicious, and the fact that it may be had ready for use many days before the Cory, makes it one of the greatest luxuries to be had, and for the first early green corn it should be planted in every garden in the United States, for there is no locality within the limits too far north for this wonderiul cereal to ripen.
