Navy Vice Adm. C. Correst Faison III, 38th Surgeon General of the Navy, presents the Angel of the Battlefield award to Navy recipient Chief Petty Officer Jaclyn N. Place during the 2018 Armed Services YMCA Angels of the Battlefield Awards Gala in Arlington, Va., Oct. 2, 2018. Place distinguished herself after a neighbor and their daughter suffered life threatening stab and knife wounds following a domestic abuse incident. Her prompt response, assessment, composed leadership, and emergency care saved the lives of both victims.
