Col. Thomas Smith Jr., 433rd Airlift Wing commander, explains how the cargo door was blown out on the doomed C-5 flight during Operation Babylift April 4, 1975 in Vietnam . (Ret) Col. Regina Aune, Aryn Lockhart, Nick Morey, and Charles Khachan from St. George Catholic Church toured a C-5M Super Galaxy aircraft Dec. 19, 2016 at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Regina and Lockhart were both aboard the flight in 1975, Regina as a 1st Lt. medical officer and Lockhart as one of the infant children.
